Meet the Owners of Southwood Bar

John and Denice DiCarlo are the proud owners of Southwood Bar, committed to honoring and expanding upon the legacy built by Dottie and Rich over the past 50 years. With deep roots in the community, John and Denice are dedicated to preserving the neighborhood bar feel that has made Southwood a local favorite.

John is a lifelong West Deptford resident with a strong history of community involvement, having served as President of West Deptford Soccer for 22 years and as a member of the West Deptford Recreation Advisory Committee. Denice, originally from Vineland, has called West Deptford home since 1998 and served in many elected leadership roles from 2008 to 2025—including the West Deptford School Board, Township Committee, Township Mayor, and Gloucester County Commissioner.

Together, John and Denice are excited to carry on Southwood’s proud tradition by offering great food, welcoming great people, and creating great times.
